Baitrix Anchovy Glow 4pk

When trolling for Chinook's we recommend a leader length of 58 to 72 inches with the Anchovy - ( Coho's 48 to 60 inches ). Common Bait-holders such as a Rhys Davis or Krippled Anchovy work well. Try the clear bait-holder for the most natural appearance. Note: Additional color should be applied directly to the bait... not the bait-holder.

For both the Baitrix Herring and the Baitrix Anchovy, embed a treble hook through the bait just ahead of the dorsal fin, near the lateral line. A trailing single hook (we like a size 6/0) should be set even with, or slightly behind the tail. The trailing hook should not be embedded in the bait.

These scented Baitrix baits are also very effective for Mooching and Jigging applications. Simply rig as you would a natural! ... and YES ... they make a great "cut plug".

The flexible nature of Baitrix baits and their particular attention to natural detail allow them to appear life-like, to even the most wary of species. Advancements made in plastic baits can not only elicit strikes, but also increase the time a fish will hold on to a bait. Our specially formulated soft plastic baitfish makes them the perfect choice for finesse fishing.

This bait comes 4 per package.

Why use Artificial Bait?

Artificial bait has been the subject of many opinions and has anglers talking the pro's and con's of it. Obviously, artificial bait is more durable and there is much less waste. Therefore, there's less waste of money as well. It's easy to keep and reuseable.

But the debate continues on whether or not natural bait catches more fish than artificial bait. Up until quite recently, it was unheard of to consider artificial bait as being as good as or better than natural bait. However, times are changing. Artificial bait looks as realistic as natural, and in some cases is superior to natural bait in murky water, or at night.

In some cases, anglers are simply tired of carrying around heavy coolers full of various live baits and try artificial simply for the convenience of it. But what really works, in order to decide the pro's and con's, is to put it to the test against natural. Whether you're in Florida, fishing for snapper or in the Pacific Northwest fishing for sockeye salmon, two or more people fishing together, using a variety of natural and artificial will soon end the debate. And... catch more than one fish on natural bait? Unlikely. Catching more than one fish on artificial bait? Commonplace.

So not only does artificial bait perform as well as natural bait, it can out perform it by catching more than one fish on one bait.
